Before adding a lane to Trailwise you should make sure that you know the essential facts required. For more information about the details you need, 'What do I need to know ...' FAQ.

The Track Entry system is triggered by the 'Add' button in track Options, consists of an initial form about the track location (grid refs). When this form is submitted, the system moves on the next form in sequence. Now it knows where your addition lies, the system checks around to see if it connects to existing known tracks and places, which allows it to make educated guesses about some of the information that you can supply.

The Entry form only allows for some of the most basic information about a track, so it can be introduced to the database. After the initial entry, the normal 'Track Details' page will be displayed, which will allow entry of more information - any known restrictions or features of interest, any known Highway Authority or DMS references, and so on. This is also a good time to enter any Usage evidence or comments if you know and have used the route.
